Dr. Garcia’s board-certified physician assistant, Jennifer, provides high-quality care to numerous patients, while performing a wide range of procedures. Working closely with Dr. Garcia, Jennifer is integral in providing treatment to patients whether for general dermatology or aesthetic purposes. Jennifer also examines patients and helps develop an appropriate course of treatment.
Jennifer grew up Indiana and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Marian University in Indianapolis in 2003. Following her undergraduate education, she attended the U.S Army Interservice Physician Assistant Program at Fort Sam Houston and earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2006 from the University of Nebraska. She served in the US Army National Guard for 11 years as a Medical Specialist Corps officer and battalion physician assistant. Jennifer began her career as a PA in dermatology in 2006 and has been a leader for the Society of Dermatology PAs (SDPA) since 2009. She has served 3 years as Public Education Committee Chair, 3 years as Director at Large, and is the current SDPA President-Elect. Jennifer also serves as a founding trustee and inaugural Chair of the Dermatology PA Foundation. She is an active volunteer for the Melanoma Research Foundation and serves as Chair of San Antonio’s Miles for Melanoma walk/run each year. Outside of practicing dermatology, Jennifer enjoys travel, running, baking, and spending time with her husband and three children.
