Meet Dr. Cervantes
Dr. Tessa Cervantes joined Sonterra Dermatology in early 2021. She sees patients at both locations—Stone Oak and the Pearl. She is a native Texan, originally from the Rio Grande Valley and fluent in Spanish. She started her career in Austin and is excited to bring her medical and cosmetic dermatology skills and high-quality patient care to San Antonio.
Dr. Cervantes graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, completed medical school, internship, and dermatology residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She served as Chief Dermatology Resident during her final year in residency and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, as well as presented at several scientific meetings. Dr. Cervantes has been active in the medical community; she was President of the Austin Dermatology Society in 2019, Secretary in 2018, and she has served as Vice President of the Hispanic Physician’s Association.
Her interests include skin cancer prevention and treatment, including surgery, as well as adult and pediatric medical dermatology. Dr. Cervantes has a special interest in cosmetic dermatology. With her kind demeanor and warm bedside manner, she is excited to continue to provide great medical and cosmetic care to the patients of Sonterra Dermatology. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two young children.
