Dr. Laila Abbas - San Antonio, TX Dermatologist

Dr. Laila Abbas, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, procedural, and cosmetic dermatology. Her medical education began with her acceptance into the competitive accelerated 7-year BA/MD program at the University of Texas at Dallas and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. There she graduated with the top academic honors and was inducted into the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AOA) and received the Award for Excellence in Dermatology. She completed a one-year research fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Heidi Jacobe and Dr. Benjamin Chong, investigating autoimmune and sclerosing skin disorders, resulting in multiple publications in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology and other medical journals. After medical school, she completed a Transitional-Year Internship at the University of Houston/HCA Kingwood Hospital in Kingwood, Texas, before returning to UT Southwestern (a top 10 dermatology residency training program) for Dermatology Residency.

Dr Abbas’s interests in dermatology include general medical dermatology, procedural dermatology, skin cancer, and cosmetics. Her goal is to help patients feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. In her free time, she enjoys reading novels, running/weightlifting, and spending time with her husband and three young children.

Dr. Abbas speaks English, Spanish, Hindi, and Urdu. She is accepting new patients at this time.
