Halo Technology for Laser Skin Resurfacing

The Halo application on the Sciton system is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser with the 1470 nm laser for non-ablative treatments in the deeper layers of the skin and the 2940 nm laser for ablative resurfacing on the surface of the skin. Halo laser skin resurfacing can improve the quality, texture, and overall appearance of the skin from years of environmental damage (sun exposure, smoking). The Halo laser application can treat several skin conditions, such as:

  • Scar Revision
  • Skin Firming
  • Skin Resurfacing
  • Skin Texture Improvement
  • Wrinkles

Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedure Information

Halo laser treatments are performed in the office as an outpatient procedure with the patient under no or local anesthesia. The patient’s eyes will be protected as the laser wand is passed over the face, neck, chest, and/or hands. After the treatment, a protective ointment will be applied over the skin before the patient leaves to recover at home.

What to Expect from Laser Skin Resurfacing

You may see redness and peeling for 1 – 2 weeks after your treatment as the skin forms a scab and begins to heal. In 2 – 8 weeks after the procedure, you should be able to wear makeup to camouflage your skin. You should use sun protection at all times after your treatment and limit direct sun exposure as much as possible. You should talk to Dr. Garcia about when to schedule touch-up appointments and creating a good home skin care routine.
